His first job in the music industry was an intern at WBOS radio in New York in the late-80s. His work there led him to become the UK rep for [l=Easy Street Records]. He then worked for Secret PR, before joining [l=City Beat] as Club Promotions manager. He then suggested to Tim Palmer (owner of City Beat) the setting up of [l=XL Recordings] where he became label manager.
He left XL in 1993 to join up with [l=EMI], where he set up and managed the [l=Positiva] label. After leaving there he founded his own label, [l=Incentive Music Limited].
He currently manages [a=Caspa (3)].
