Vladimir Matkovskiy (1899 – 19??) was a Soviet cellist, an Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1951). He graduated from the [l=Moscow Conservatory] in 1922 and worked as a soloist in the [a=Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra] from 1922 to 1953. In 1933, Matkovskiy replaced [a=Sviatoslav Knushevitsky] in the famous [a=Bolshoi Theatre Quartet] and played with the ensemble for two years, until his place was taken by [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/3809125]Isaac Buravsky[/url].
