Allan Holdsworth

Allan Holdsworth (born August 6, 1946, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England - died April 16, 2017, Vista, California, USA) was an English guitarist and composer best known for his work in jazz fusion.

After recording with a number of bands throughout the 1970's his first solo album was released - against his will - in 1976 "Velvet Darkness". The first solo album over which he had full artistic control "I.O.U." was released in 1982. He was inducted into Guitar Player Magazines hall of fame and was a five-time winner of the magazines reader's poll. He was also featured in Musician Magazines 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
