Konstantin Nosov (1938–1984) was a Soviet jazz trumpeter, one of the first outstanding improv players in Soviet jazz of the 1950s, son of the famous songwriter-composer [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1622012]Georgi Nosov[/url]. He was known as a refined intellectual, books and records collector – his LP-collection of 1950-60s contemporary jazz was one of the biggest in Leningrad.
Nosov started his career in the [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/4192804]Orest Kandat Jazz Ensemble[/url], where he played from 1956 to 1959. After that, Konstantin joined [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1406041]Yusef Wainstain Jazz Orchestra[/url] and also organized a quintet with soloists of the ensemble [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/2027392]Gennadi Golstein[/url] (alto saxophone), [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/1796906]David Goloshchekin[/url] (piano), [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/3276450]Stanislav Streltsov[/url] (drums), and Victor Smirnov (double bass).
In 1966, Konstantin Nosov and other members of the quintet left the orchestra. Since then, he had been playing in [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/3972942]Ady Rosner Orchestra[/url], Vadim Ludvikovsky Orchestra (1967–69), Evening Arbat Orchestra, Melodiya Ensemble (1973–79) and Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra.
Nosov immigrated to Bulgaria in 1979. He continued playing jazz with [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/3515601]Simeon Shterev Quartet[/url], Orchester Sofia led by [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/2792200]Dimiter Simeonov[/url], and Dynamite Brass Band septet (since 1982). Musician participated in various international festivals, such as Golden Orpheus and Jazz Jamboree Festival.
