Jay Haze

Jay Haze

Producer, DJ and record label owner.

Jay Haze left Philadelphia in the early 2000s and is now based in Berlin, also home of his house/techno record labels [l=Tuning Spork Records] and [l=Contexterrior]. Jay has released tracks and remixes on several other labels, often under pseudonyms such as [a=Fuckpony] (for [l=BPitch Control], [l=Get Physical Music] and [l=Cocoon Recordings]) and [a=Sub Version (2)] (for [l=Soul Jazz Records]). Apart from his solo work, Jay has collaborated with the likes of [a=Ricardo Villalobos] and [a=Samim Winiger], and has remixed artists such as [a=Hell], [a=P. Diddy], [a=Gui Boratto] and even [a=Yann Tiersen]’s theme from Amelie, which became a crossover hit.

Jay's mix compilation Fabric47 (2009) launched his new campaign, DJs for DRC, to help victims in the war-torn Congo: he donated all of his money from the CD sales toward the charity Merlin and, having encouraged a number of other DJs to donate money from gigs, he aims to travel to the Congo to shoot a documentary and raise awareness.
