Brainbug

Alberto Bertapelle

At the end of 1996, a track took everyone by surprise by it's ghastly aspect and it's pizzicato strings. "Nightmare" went on to be an international hit and kickstarted the 'Pizzicato Syndrome'.
Brainbug, a project of [a=Alberto Bertapelle], had another success with "Benedictus", but further singles "The Eighth Dwarf" and "Rain" (with vocals) used the exact same formula and got lost in a sea of similar records: [a=Brooklyn Bounce], [a=Lucid], [a=Max Deejay] and even deep house artist [a=Kevin Yost] used the 'Pizzicato' sound until it wore thin and obsolete.
A cover of "Nightmare" released in 1997 by [a=Space Shuttle] (an alias of [a=Dee Jay Sören]), was called "We Have A Problem" and added the famous line 'Houston, we have a problem' in the middle break.
